Dannon Light & Fit is horrible!

Yuk!!! Dannon Light & Fit is made with the harsh-tasting sugar substitute Aspartame so this product tastes like an auto lubricant. Why don't they just fire the Product Manager who thought a yogurt tasting like artificial chemicals is okay to be named Light & Fit? Are we suppose to want to be light and fit so much that we are suppose to totally ignore the horrible and long-lasting chemical aftertaste? And are we suppose to totally ignore the fact that Aspartame was once banned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration because of cancer toxicity, but was vigorously lobbied back into food products by Bush cohort Donald Rumsfeld, the former CEO of Searle, the conglomerate that manufactured Aspartame? Dannon Light & Fit is poison. Go ahead, taste it. And then avoid it. I agree!! Horrible tasting product.

Had a strong chemical flavor which actually made my mouth burn. I threw away the other 2 containers I bought.

Ruined a good yogurt

i first started purchasing dannon yogurt way back when juan metzger still owned it. the quality far surpassed any yogurt on the market. the quality first started to slip shortly after beatrice foods bought it, but it was still the best yogurt on the market you could depend on fresh yogurt because you would see the colorful dannon trucks making deliveries to the stores 2 or 3 times weekly.then, shortly before the demise of beatrice foods i noticed a subtle change in their product. since i was attending SUNY at the time, we had it tested and found they were using gelatin to thicken it instead of thickening it naturally with viable cultures. then, when DANONE took over from beatrice, i thoght dannon would be returned to its original greatness. sadly, the yogurt was prostituted even furter by danone, with the addition of several artifical ingredients. i stopped buying dannon about 20 years ago. i recently mistakenly bought some dannon, and was shocked at how bad dannon has become. i tested it and found that it no longer contained a viable culture. that was the original draw of dannon, the health benefits of a viable culture. i will never buy dannon again, and can surmise that juan metzger is turning in his grave.

I've been patient with Dannon and changes for the worse over the past very long several years. I've continued to buy and try to see if they rediscovered their all natural roots.

They haven't - it's gotten so much worse. I now need to stop purchasing Dannon products altogether. The horrible tasting artificial flavoring is just too much.

My cultured product monies will now go solely to companies that maintain all natural in ALL their product lines.

Goodbye Dannon. I miss the old you. I LOVED the old you. Especially when you were tart you with lumpy bits of fruit at the bottom.

We had a pretty good run and some pretty delicious moments since at least 1967. I'm so sorry you were a victim of a large and uncaring corporation.

Yes, Dannon ruined a great yogurt. I ate it by the truckload as a kid and still have a large collection of the old cardboard lids.

While there were a few changes the most pronounced was when they sweetened it and removed the tartness. A great product simply destroyed, and now you rarely see it on the store shelves.

I Sure would like to get my hands on some of those lids. I collected a small shoebox full of them as a kid.

When I moved in with my now husband there was no room in his house for most of my stuff and he was pretty callous about what "junk" I deemed worth keeping.

I threw them out and have regretted it for years. I'm octopusjr on ebay if anyone ever wants to sell me some.

Dannon Yogart like milk

I bought a (24 count) case of dannon yogart with fruit on the bottom and the yogart poured out like milk. What happened to quality control? I purchased to case of containers of yogart at BJ's in Whitestone New York. I bought a (24 count) case of dannon yogart with fruit on the bottom and the yogart poured out like milk. The light and fit commercial is gross.

The light and fit commercial is gross. It features Heidi Klum and she *** and slurps the yogurt. It is so gross that I change the channel or hit the mute button. We have a facebook group of people who hate the commercial called "I hate the Light and Fit Commercial". http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000****18629&v=wall&story_fbid=147738****13360#!/group.php?gid=114698****02&ref=ts I called Dannon and asked them to take the commercial off the air. They wouldn't. Interestingly their product also contains aspartame which is bad for you. Dannon has their own facebook group and I have seen several people complain about the commercial too!

I can not stand her humming and cooing or whatever it is she is doing that they CHOSE to leave in the commercial. It is awful and worse than the Geico gecko commercials.

Aspartame causes cancer. Heidi should be ashamed of herself. You know models do not eat dairy.

Danon pays well... That's all.

Guest

Choice is either don't eat what you cannot help picturing as yoghurt that model gorging out of dog's rear ...

or eat ANY OTHER YOGHURT that makes you feel clean and healthy.

Just thinking about commercial makes you feel LIGHT AND UN FIT. The commercial creates such disgust it is stomach turning and THAT is NOT conducive to good health.

And yes, if watching the program or channel puts disgust in you mind than watch another channel and other programs. It is worth it.

Guest

At the point that I don't watch any channel that has porky Klum making a face like a dog and slurping like a dog doing its rear.

Looking at a container of Dannon Light and Fit Yoghurt is now equivalent to looking into the dog's rear. Heidi can slurp that.

Are they trying to sell yoghurt or make you throw up?

So I switched to another brand.

EEewwww!

Guest

Heidi should be ashamed of herself, eating like such a pig on a TV commercial.

This commercial is repulsive and make me sick to my stomach whenever they air it. I turn the channel when it comes on.

Dannon also did the same with Activia. The actors were making grunting noises and talking with their mouth full of yogurt, drooling down his chin when tasting the yogurt with Jamie Lee Curtis.

What is Dannon thinking? Next thing they'll do is have their actors belching and *** while eating their products.

I do think of these ads when I'm in the dairy section of the grocery store and do not buy Dannon.

Guest

I don't like that commercial either. Another yogurt commercial I hate is the Activia where Jamie Leigh Curtis gives yougurt to a couple (in a park) and the man talks with his mouth full. Gross.

Guest

Read a book or get a life.

That commercial drives me crazy. I just got it twice in one commercial break. UGH.

Dannon has added Aspartame - what are they thinking?

What has Dannon done to my yogurt? I just got the new Light & Fit Yogurt with the so-called "great new taste." They have added 20 calories, 4 grams of sugar in the form of fructose, acesulfame K (don't know what that is) and ASPARTAME (in other words, Nutrasweet). Aspartame? What are they thinking? The product used to just have sucralose (Splenda). Now they're dumping even more chemicals in it and has that chemical, fake-sugar taste I don't like. I used to think Dannon was reasonably health-conscious. I don't anymore. I'm taking the product back to the store for a refund.

The new Dannon taste of the regular (not the Light & Fit) has changed as well. It now has an aftertaste like it has fake sugar in it (although it is not on the label.

I have bought ONLY Dannon yogurt for YEARS. I will no longer be buying it.

Phenylalanine can cause mental retardation, brain damage and seizures

The most comprehensive and longest human study spanning 22 years that has ever looked at aspartame toxicity. The study evaluates the effect between aspartame intake and cancer, and they found a clear association between aspartame consumption and non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and leukemia.

Adverse health effects from sucralose have been reported by people around the globe, from gastrointestinal problems, seizures, dizziness, migraines, blurred vision, weight gain, and blood sugar elevation to allergic reactions.

All in Dannon yogurt...and it tastes gross too.

Guest

I wish these companies would leave products alone. Light and Fit was fine!

Why change it?

I agree! I don't want anymore chemicals in the yogurt.

Guest

I NEVER TAKE THE DANON YOGURT, BECAUSE THEY ADDED ASPARTAME, BAD DANON !! :cry :( :? :x :sigh

Guest

Yeah the new Light and Fit sucks. This used to be my favorite snack but it tastes sickly sweet now. I won't be buying it anymore if they stick with this new recipe.

Dannon LightnFit- smaller size, increased cost, worse ingredients

I'm not sure if this is a revelation of what they have been doing and hiding, as far as the ingredients go, but the simultaneous reduction in size and increase in cost is ridiculous. The size of each container was 6oz; it is now 4oz. Despite this reduction in amount, the calorie count somehow remains at 60! One main reason I ate it before was because it was one of the few lower priced yogurts with no fructose; now it's listed twice in the ingredient list. It must be heavy stuff to keep the calorie count up. Sorry, don't have the exact cost increase amount at the moment; it was bought in bulk by a family member.
